Marjorie Evans became Chairman of the Board of Universal Weather and Aviation in 1981, when her husband and Universal founder Tom Evans was tragically killed in an aviation accident. During her years as Chairman, Marjorie led UV in growth and prestige in the corporate aviation community around the world, including service and participation in many business organizations. She now serves as Vice-Chairman of the Board as she has turned the Chairman position over to her step-son, Greg Evans.

Marjorie has a deep commitment to Americanism, Community Service and Youth with distinctive contributions in all these areas. She established and did the initial funding of The Marjorie E. Evans Foundation in 1996. The Foundation, along with her board of directors has made contributions to many charities including: The ESCAPE Family Resource Center, PAL, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation, Toys for Tots, The Houston Ballet, Challenge Air for Kids, Orbis International, JDRF, and The University of St. Thomas, (and more too numerous to mention here)

Marjorie was elected to the Board of Trustees for The University of St. Thomas in 1999, where she served two 6-year terms. She continues to be actively involved at the University. She sponsors the Women’s Volleyball team and serves on the Athletic Committee as well as, the Student Affairs Committee. In addition to the University, Marjorie has served or is serving on the boards of several organizations including: The ESCAPE Family Resource Center, JDRF, The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, The Hobby Airport Air Terminal Museum and the Greater Hobby Area Planning and Development Board.

As a Charter Member of the Hobby Airport Bay Area Exchange Club, Marjorie has served her club for 31 years as: Club President, Club Treasurer, Club Secretary and Club Director. Many of these positions she has held for a number of years. For the Texas Louisiana Gulf Coast District she has served as District President-Elect, Distfict President and District Treasurer. In addition to serving on the board of ESCAPE, she has been a member of the ESCAPE Advisory Board, ESCAPE Volunteer Reception Committee and much more.

Marjorie has attended and supported 100% of her clubs projects, and fundraisers. She is present at most district functions and board meetings, as well as lending her support to the activities of other clubs in the district.
Since 1986, Marjorie has attended every National Convention, District Convention, District Mid-Winter Conference and District Leadership Conference. She has recruited countless new members, wearing her pin proudly and talks Exchange to everyone she meets.

Marjorie’s activities are too numerous to mention, but have a common denominator—helping others. But, with all these activities, she always finds the time for whoever may come by her office or give her a call with some need. When requests are made, her answer is never “no” or “maybe”, but always “yes, I will.”
