Marjorie was elected to the Board of Trustees for The University of St. Thomas in 1999, where she served two 6-year terms. She continues to be actively involved at the University. She sponsors the Women’s Volleyball team and serves on the Athletic Committee as well as, the Student Affairs Committee. In addition to the University, Marjorie has served or is serving on the boards of several organizations including: The ESCAPE Family Resource Center, JDRF, The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, The Hobby Airport Air Terminal Museum and the Greater Hobby Area Planning and Development Board.
As a Charter Member of the Hobby Airport Bay Area Exchange Club, Marjorie has served her club for 31 years as: Club President, Club Treasurer, Club Secretary and Club Director. Many of these positions she has held for a number of years. For the Texas Louisiana Gulf Coast District she has served as District President-Elect, Distfict President and District Treasurer. In addition to serving on the board of ESCAPE, she has been a member of the ESCAPE Advisory Board, ESCAPE Volunteer Reception Committee and much more.
Marjorie has attended and supported 100% of her clubs projects, and fundraisers. She is present at most district functions and board meetings, as well as lending her support to the activities of other clubs in the district.
Since 1986, Marjorie has attended every National Convention, District Convention, District Mid-Winter Conference and District Leadership Conference. She has recruited countless new members, wearing her pin proudly and talks Exchange to everyone she meets.
Marjorie’s activities are too numerous to mention, but have a common denominator—helping others. But, with all these activities, she always finds the time for whoever may come by her office or give her a call with some need. When requests are made, her answer is never “no” or “maybe”, but always “yes, I will.”
